Daily bit top

Kids have always blamed their parents for everything from their unfortunate height to their low SAT scores. Now it's Mom and Dad's turn to point fingers. Research shows that living with children can lead to the consumption of an extra 4.9 grams of fat daily. Pesky Goldfish!

As a kid, burning calories was (literally) a matter of child’s play.

Your neighborhood gym, where fitness fiends are trading Pilates for the playground, couldn’t agree more.

From Red Rover to Twister, Crunch’s Recess classes will transport you back in time to the schoolyard. Peaked in high school? Opt for the Varsity Football workout to improve strength, speed and stamina.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane … no it’s Superhero Training Camp class at Equinox clubs. The gym’s wildly popular class incorporates cardio, strength training and plenty of zany drills like leaping over imaginary buildings, i.e. piles of BOSU balls. “It’s amazing what grown adults will do,” says Amy Dixon, who co-created the program.

Already on offer in L.A. and New York, the Superhero Training Camp is slated on fall calendars at Equinox locations in Chicago, Washington D.C., Florida and northern California.

Cape not included.
