Daily bit top

Next time an occasion calls for flowers of any shade, go green by ordering from Organic Bouquet. Their Veriflora-certified flowers support safe working conditions for growers in Latin America, so you can feel good knowing your Fall Asiatic lilies or Majestic Sunset roses are environmentally and socially responsible (not to mention pretty).

What looks like a giant rubber band, provides resistance for strength training and is easy to travel with?

Resistance bands!

To tone muscles, try these exercises with easy to follow, how-to pictures:

Bicep Curl
* To prepare, lay band on floor and stand on the middle of it. Pick up one end in each hand.
* Straighten your arms by your side, palms forward. Raise your hands—bending at elbow—until palms face your shoulders.

Squat
* Prepare the same as the bicep curl, with feet hip-width apart on the band.
* Lower your body, bending at the knees, as if sitting in a chair.

Chest Press
* To prepare, wrap center of band around a solid post or rail. Face away from the post and grab one end of band in each hand.
* Position arms so elbows are back and hands are beside your chest. Push hands forward until arms are extended.

For a one-woman band, VJD picks Versa Stick, which comes with 3 levels of tubing, and a DVD that details 6 workouts.
