The Vital List: The Latest Natural Product Picks

Friday, October 26, 2007

Just when we thought we’d seen every healthy beverage, cleaning product and kitchen contraption there is, we went to the Natural Products Expo East 2007 and discovered a few things we can no longer live without.

1

Herbal H2O

Tired of plain old tasteless water? Since discovering Ayala’s Herbal Water, we’ve been hydrating ourselves with their tasty herbal-enhanced water. What’s better than their inventive and each-better-than-the-last flavors (Think: lemongrass mint vanilla, cloves cardamom cinnamon and ginger lemon peel)? They’re a zero calorie, all-natural source of antioxidants. We’ll drink 8-cups-a-day to that!

2

Creativi-tea

Look out for Fully Loaded Tea, a true standout on often overwhelming tea shelves. With innovative flavors like Tomato Rebel Black Tea (with tomato pieces and basil leaves), Goji Force Green Tea (with Goji Berries and Lingonberries) and Cucumber Mojo White Tea (with cucumber and carrot pieces), we can’t wait for tea time!

3

Clean nuts

While money may not grow on trees, soap actually does. Ever heard of the Soap nut? We hadn’t either until we found Cleanut laundry detergent. Soap nuts are native to India and Nepal and have been used as a natural detergent for over 3,000 years. Cleanut has added other natural ingredients to soap nut extract to create a hypoallergenic, biodegradable, organic detergent.

4

Better blend

Smoothies are a good on-the-go snack, but blenders aren’t the most portable of kitchen appliances. Enter, the Blender Bottle. Thanks to its patented Blender Ball, simply add the ingredients, shake the bottle and voila … your drink is served. For straight-from-the-bottle sipping there’s a handy pour spout with a StayOpen™ flip cap (so it doesn’t close on your nose while you’re enjoying).

My wife recently purchased a bag of soapnuts to use for cleaning cloth diapers for our baby girl. They worked better than any other laundry detergent she had tried. She was so impressed that she bought them in bulk & opened up an e-store so that she have a home-based business and still raise our daughter.
