PUMP it up

What: The health food restaurant that’s beloved by bodybuilders, models and VJD staffers alike, The Pump Energy Food (aka The Pump), just got a major makeover and launched a brand new location.
Where: Check out their new look and taste at 275 Madison Avenue (at 40th Street) or visit one of the tried and true locales.
How: Order delivery, stop by for take-out or grab a stool.
Why: It’s the perfect antidote to heavy dinners out: “simple ingredients, simply prepared, simply good.” VJD recommends: the hummus…it’s delish!

GREEN pages

What: Local eco guide Greenopia has just published its first NYC edition, which means eco-conscious New Yorkers can now get the scoop on all the area’s like-minded retails, services and organizations. From organic restaurants to dry cleaners to pest control services, Greenopia’s paving the way to greener pastures.
How: $17.96. Pick one up at Whole Foods or buy online.
Why: You’ll soon realize Central Park isn’t the only green on our map.

FRESH scoop

What: Summer may be the time of ice cream jingle fever, but the new Van Leeuwen Ice Cream truck has a different, less traditional attraction: fresh, local and pure ice cream that’s handmade and served in eco-friendly packaging.
Where: Look for it on the corner of Greene & Prince.
When: Daily, from 12–7 PM.
Why: Get a good, sweet treat without the song and dance.

OM outside

What: It’s time to take your downward dog to the park for Om Yoga’s complimentary outdoor yoga, where an expert-led class is worth a late lunch break.
Where: Union Square Park.
When: Thursday, 7/24 (and the following 2 Thursdays), from 3-4 PM.
How: Free
Why: The sun is shining and the grass is green – summer’s the season for working out.
